For whatever reason, the waitress from before had now entered Alethea's room. Did they know each other maybe? Though from the wary looks Alethea gave the waitress in the dining room of the inn Arbella though it was the opposite. Once the waitress closed the door behind her, Arbella quickly rushed to the door, pressing her ear to listen to any conversation she may overhear. No conversation prevailed, and it was actually too quiet for Arbellas liking. All that she needed was the thud of someone coming to the floor and she flung the door to Alethea's room open, not caring for anything that she might have been interrupting.
The sight before her shocked her, though not to the point of freezing out of fright, she had seen much worse than this before. Her instinct took over and shee took everything in, from Alethea's panting, bleeding figure on the bed slowly losing consciousness, to the waitress with a bloody knife next to her, holding her neck as if someone had just been strangling her. Without thinking, she walked over to the waitress from before and knocked her out with a hard hit to her head. Her assumption, from the way the waitress secretively came into the room at night and the way Alethea was wary of her before, was that this was what it looked like, an assassination attempt. Her brows furrowed as she stepped over the unconscious body of the waitress, and rushed to Alethea's side, who now seemed unaware of anything.
Arbella wrapped her arm around Alethea's shoulder, carefully placing her onto the bed. She studied her and noticed the bleeding wound on Alethea's side. Remembering what she had been taught alongside her best friend back at home, and what her best friend had shown her of the easiest ways to heal or bandage a wound, Arbella quickly started to work on the wound. She moved Aletheas clothes aside, leaving her stomach bare. Her hands hovered above the wound, the slightest green colour emitting from them, in Arbellas attempt to try to heal Alethea. It was at times like these where she wished to have learnt more healing magic alongside her best friend, but that was not the path chosen for her. The prime focus for her was to learn to be fake and manipulate her way into someones mind. That is the most important her brother had said, you will do good for the Aira that way. She cursed under her breath, now was not the time to be thinking back to home.
Once the wound had stopped bleeding, though Arbella knew this would only be momentarily, her healing power not enough, she bandaged the wound with ripped fabric from the covers. The next task she busied herself with was tying the waitresses hands behind her back and stuffing her mouth with fabric so she wouldn't be able to say anything and potentially piss Arbella off even more. There would be no sleep for Arbella today, she would stay awake and keep an eye on the waitress, and Aletheas wound, healing as much as she could if it reopened again.

[attr="class","hiraeth"]山雨欲来风满楼 | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ The world was spinning.. Would she die now in this strange place with no one to hold her hand.. Tears still ran but she couldn't focus, she felt someone help her she felt warmth and gentleness. But no matter how much she willed her eyes to open no matter how much she wanted to fight through the pain and fatigue the darkness took over her and she quickly fell to slumber not knowing if she would ever awaken. She felt her body move, the pain had lessened but any movement any touch seemed to make pain shoot through her whole body making her wake up from any kind of slumber. Her eyes opened noticing someone watching over her nearby not Ceres nor Ariadne. Another on the floor dead or unconscious.. Her hand moved to her neck, her hands tightening slightly around her throat as it began to burn.. Hunger.. She was hungry and not for food but blood, she was an enther and not only did she feed on blood but she fed on living energy.. No she couldn't hurt this person, tears ran down her face as she curled into herself not wanting the person hurt.. Not wanting to hurt anyone. How did people do this, no control.. How did her baby sister handle this.. The waitress shuffled on the ground and the noise itself only made Alethea's primal need to hunt only grow stronger. It would have taken one split moment but luckily for both of them Ceres and Ariadne rushed into the room. They moved passed Arbella knowing her familiar face and rushed to Alethea. Leaning closer to her they touched her gently, just their touch was enough to know they were allowing her to take some of their energy to be able to last until they left the city to heal under the sky. Alethea leaned into Ariadne's shoulder whispering faintly what had happened. "Ceres the waitress attacked her. She needs to be dealt with or we will need to run and Ale... Vi won't survive." Ceres grabbed Alethea's sword that rested against the wall and pulled it with no hesitation out of its sheath ready to bury it in the girls chest. "Ceres Stop!" She shouted but it came off faint. "Not here, we need information. Take her somewhere." Ceres nodded without a look toward Arbella or anyone, she kicked the waitress in the face making her fall unconscious again before throwing her over her shoulder jumping out of the window that overlooked an alley way. Her eyes could only barely make out her face, her eyes narrowed and she pushed herself up slightly to see better. The girl from before she had come to save her. "A-are you hurt?" Her voice so faint and yet she was worried about a stranger more than herself. "YOU IDIOT YOU WERE STABBED AND YOU WORRY ABOUT A STRANGER!" Alethea shut her eyes not from pain but just the sheer loudness of Ariadne next to her. "It's not the first time, can you not shout. Beside's you can't carry me we need help." They both looked at Arbella, Ariadne sighing in frustration. "This is a bad idea Vi, we barely know her." She moved away from Alethea letting her move so her legs hung on the side of the bed, her dress resting above her knees bloodstained. "I know, I would be dead now if it weren't for her." Ariadne crossed her arms on her chest and just gave up trying to explain she turned her back to the two of them closing the door and then walking to the window to make sure the alley would be empty. She tried to push herself up but just failed and sighed. "I .. I can't answer your questions.. But I can if you help me with this. I need you to help me get to the forest just at the outskirts." Her cheeks were flushed but there were many reasons for that, all someone had to was guess because more than likely they would be right in her current situation. ✉ tag -- ( Mitichi ) ✎ 587 words ※ nxoxox >3< |

Arbella watched Ceres and Ariadne rush into the room and panic over Aletheas state and what they had found upon entering the room. A bloody bed and floor, with a bloody Alethea on it, a waitress that seemingly looked innocent upon first glance and a stranger sitting on the floor observing Alethea for any signs of pain. It was at moments like these she thanked for her hidden identity. If they knew she was aira, a high rank at that, it would make the scene much worse. They weren't trusted by almost everyone, and Arbella was neither surprised or bothered by it. She watched the scene unfold before her, Aletheas struggle to sit up, Ceres and Ariadne's skeptical looks and most of all Aletheas worry. A small smile formed on Arbellas mouth, surprised at the act of kindness amongst the chaos, quickly changed to a frown when she heard the loud scoldings of one of Aletheas friends.
Arbella payed attention to the scene that unfolded in front of her, acknowledging two things that stood out to her the most. Firstly, the trio of girls were close, closer than anyone would think and especially with whatever was wrong with Alethea. It was strange how, despite their worry, they left for a bit to look for something, either information or something. Secondly, the girls weren't human either. She did not know what race, but it was something mysterious and something that didn't belong in these areas. Just like her. Or entirely different than her.
"You don't need to even answer my questions, dear Vi," She began to speak, "Of course I will help. It would be rude to not help a lady with a beautiful voice like you," Arbella finished, trying to soften the atmosphere in the room.
Arbella stood up, grabbing two clean cloaks out of the wardrobe that stood next to Aletheas bed. She grabbed one for herself, which she threw around her shoulders, hiding her rather dirty and bloodied dress, and walked over to Alethea kneeling in front of her.
"These should bring less attention to us, even if it is the night," Arbella said wrapping it tight around Aletheas shoulders. With her bloodied state beneath the cloak hidden, Alethea would have look completely fine, excluding her rather tired expression and slightly messy hair. Though its not like people in this town walked around with perfectly washed and combed hair.
She carefully wrapped her arm around Aletheas waist, grabbing the uninjured side gently to pull Alethea closer to Arbella. Aletheas other arm she wrapped around her own shoulders, holding it to provide support.
"If you show me the way I will follow, I promise I will not do anything" She said, looking at the two other women in the room. This was so much deeper of a situation than she was meant to get into, she was not in the right place. Her missions were never meant to get so complicated but despite all of this, she couldn't bring herself to say no. Although she was considered a monster to most and wanted dead, she still had her own morals, something no one could change, no matter their opinions of her. She turned to Alethea, their bodies close together. At any other point in time, Arbella might have become flustered at the closeness of her and another girl but right now, even though she might be a bit warm because of all the contact, her objective was to help, not to dwadle in her own problems.
"You don't have to help me carry you, I will manage," She whispered, "Lean on me all you want."

[attr="class","hiraeth"]山雨欲来风满楼 | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ It was strange how this person reacted but she had nothing else to go by. Their travels had been relatively boring with not much happening on random occasion getting into a fight but nothing that would allow her to form some kind of connection with a stranger. It was uncomfortable not only to her but to her friends also trusting an outsider to help them save her. Their people had been betrayed by so many different races in the past which eventually led to the rakuh becoming one of the rarest races not because of a lack of population but because they refused to make themselves known to the outside world. She watched as Arbella threw a cape over her shoulders making sure they wouldn’t attract attention as they left the village. The more they walked the quicker her energy felt drained. There was too much to deal with, poison and injury.. The lack of her spirit everything was pushing Alethea too close to death. As she leaned closer to Arbella most of her wait on her while still trying to walk she noticed the blurs becoming more vivid. The ghosts becoming more solid in form as they walked passed different spirits. Their voices becoming louder now she could hear them gossiping though Arbella and her friends wouldn’t hear their spoken words she could hear everything clearly. ‘oh no she is hurt’ ‘Don’t trust strangers they bring evil’Alethea knew that too well, she had been raised and taught about their history the past that came from the betrayal of one of their own and the aira race. She knew too well how people could change but she needed help she only grew weaker. The girls made their way to the forest, Ceres and Ariadne scouting ahead making sure they weren’t going to head into a trap. They eventually came to the forest, the girls took over holding Alethea and allowed Arbella to follow behind them. Slowly they followed the whispering spirits that guided Alethea to a pure lake where the trees separated to allow moonlight onto the lake. They took of the cape and lowered her into the cold water slowly, her body shifting in the slight glow of the moon until her hair faded to white and her previously mix matched eyes turned blue. Wings sprouted from her back and surrounded her body protecting her from the outside world or prying eyes. Ceres and Ariadne began to sing a healing incantation they had learned a while back a beautiful yet haunting lullaby to allow Alethea to heal with the use of water and moonlight as well as the sky. She leaned her head back and allowed her body to absorb energy from the sky slowly healing her wounds and allowing the poison to slowly fade. Her heart instantly racing at the thought they might have made a mistake.. What if Arbella betrayed them what if she called the aira to come and capture them. There was no one they could trust as everyone feared the cruel aira. ✉ tag -- ( Mitichi ) ✎ 557 words ※ nxoxox >3< |
